Privacy Policy

The short version

We are a brewery, not a data business. We collect what you hand us — a message through the contact form, an enquiry about a private event, an email address for the newsletter — and we use it to get back to you. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people actually read. We do not sell your information to anybody, and we never have.

If you want us to delete something we hold about you, send us a message and we will.

What you give us on purpose

The contact form. Your name, your email, a phone number if you choose to add one, the topic you picked and the message you wrote. We store it so a message cannot quietly get lost, and we email it to ourselves so somebody actually reads it. We do not record your IP address, your browser, or anything else alongside it.

The private event enquiry form. The booking form on our private events pages is run by Tripleseat, the event software we plan private parties in. What you type there goes to Tripleseat and lands in our booking system — it does not pass through this website's own database. Tripleseat's own privacy policy governs what they do with it.

The newsletter. Your email address, and nothing else. It goes to Brevo, who send our emails and keep the list. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately.

The search box. When you search this site we record the words you typed and how many results came back. That is genuinely all of it: no IP address, no cookie, no session, nothing that ties a search to a person. We read it to find out what people came looking for and did not find.

What gets collected automatically

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic — which pages get read, roughly what part of the world a visit came from, whether people are on a phone or a laptop. It sets cookies and sends that information to Google, who process it for us. It does not tell us your name.

Hosting and security. The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any host, they handle the requests your browser makes, which includes seeing your IP address, and they rate-limit our search, contact and newsletter forms so the forms cannot be abused. That is ordinary operation, kept briefly, and not used to build a picture of you.

Embedded pieces of other people's services. Parts of this site are supplied by other companies and load straight into your browser, which means those companies see your visit: Taplist (the beer and food menus), Elfsight (the events calendar on the home page), Tripleseat (the booking form) and Google (the map and the web fonts). Each has its own privacy policy.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies so it can tell one visit apart from another. If you would rather it did not, you can block cookies in your browser settings, run a tracker blocker, or install Google's own opt-out extension. The site works perfectly well either way — nothing here is gated behind accepting a cookie.

There is one other cookie, but it is only ever set for staff signing in to edit the site.

Who we share it with

Nobody, in the sense you are actually worried about. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising. The companies named above handle data on our behalf so that the site can do its job. Past that, we would only hand something over if the law required it.

How long we keep it

Contact messages stay until they have been dealt with and are no longer any use to us — an enquiry from two years ago does nothing for anybody. Your newsletter subscription lasts until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows Google's retention setting. Search terms have nothing personal in them to keep in the first place.

If you would like something gone sooner than that, ask and it is gone.

What you can ask us for

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter, using the link in any email we send.
• Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
• Ask us to delete it, and we will, unless the law says we have to keep it.
• Opt out of analytics with a browser setting or a blocker.

You do not need to give us a reason for any of these, and asking will not change how you get treated when you come in for a beer.

Links to other places

Some pages link out — our gift cards live on Toast, our beer list and events point at the people who run them, and we link to the charities we work with. Once you follow a link off this site, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from them. In the taproom, children are welcome as long as they are closely attended by an adult at all times, and you have to be 21 to drink.

If this page changes

If we change how any of this works we will update this page and change the date below. If the change is a significant one, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing around it.
